Poslovna izvrsnost – Business Excellence is an international, double-blind peer-reviewed scholarly journal that publishes theoretical and empirical research on business performance, quality, and organizational excellence across sectors and regional contexts, with a specific emphasis on the application and evolution of globally recognized frameworks within Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
The journal examines how globally recognized frameworks - such as EFQM, ISO-based quality systems, ESG standards, and lean methodologies - are interpreted, enacted, and institutionally embedded through strategic leadership, organizational learning processes, and technology-enabled transformation. We are particularly interested in empirical and conceptual contributions that explore how these models evolve and gain operational relevance within distinct regulatory, institutional, and cultural settings, with a regional focus on CEE. Emphasis is placed on studies that assess how such frameworks drive measurable advancements in performance, quality, and sustained excellence across varied sectoral domains.
We welcome submissions addressing both private and public organizations across sectors including manufacturing, services, public administration, healthcare, education, energy, finance, and digital platforms. Contributions may examine performance and learning dynamics at organizational, team, or ecosystem level.
Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:
Research on technology-enabled change in organizations and innovation ecosystems: Industry 4.0 adoption, organizational readiness for AI-based transformation, strategic deployment of digital platforms, and cross-sectoral innovation ecosystems.
Studies on how performance systems and excellence models are designed, implemented, and adapted across organizational and sectoral contexts: strategy execution, new models of value creation, performance measurement, and empirical reassessment of excellence frameworks (e.g. EFQM) across sectors.
Research on leadership practices and organizational capability development that enable performance and transformation: leadership behaviour and design, change-oriented learning, talent systems, and organizational culture as enablers of strategic and operational transformation.
Studies on the development, integration, and performance impact of quality systems in varied organizational settings: quality beyond compliance, integration with sustainability, sector-specific governance, integratet systems, organizational effects of quality standards, audit practices.
Research on how organizations conceptualize, structure, and implement sustainability and ESG responsibilities: sustainability strategy, the design and development of new ESG frameworks, and organizational capabilities for responsible business.
We welcome empirical and conceptual research that demonstrates analytical depth and contextual relevance. This includes quantitative, qualitative, comparative, case-based, and mixed-methods approaches, provided they contribute to advancing knowledge in business performance, quality, and organizational excellence.
